Khanh An Monastery (District 12) has a history of hundreds of years, restored with architecture like Japanese temples, attracting many visitors.

Khanh An Monastery (An Phu Dong Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) was originally a small pagoda built by Patriarch Tri Hien in 1905. At that time, a wealthy family in the area donated 6 hectares to the monk. land for the temple. At that time, Khanh An small temple was located between An Loc Dong and Hanh Phu (later An Phu Dong), where many patriotic soldiers gathered to fight against the French. The temple was destroyed many times by the French colonialists.

After the break, the vestiges of the pagoda are sometimes only small bamboo or brick plaster. In 2006, the pagoda was rebuilt, almost built and completed as it is in 2016, renamed Khanh An monastery. The largest building is the majestic hall was built with four floors of material mainly wood and stone.

Khanh An monastery has the style of Northern Buddhism, bold features of East Asian architecture. The entrance to the main hall is the stone steps with the lotus flower pattern.

Around the campus are wooden and hexagonal paper lamps, often seen in festivals or at the temple's gateway to Japan at Khanh An Monastery.

Around the hallway, the main hall, the house ... are also hanging many types of lanterns. According to the monks, on the full moon, ancestral death or meditation retreat ... lanterns will be lit throughout the monastery.
