Khai Doan pagoda in Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak was started construction in 1951 and is the final destination of Nguyen Dynasty.

Khai Doan Pagoda is located in the center of Buon Ma Thuot City. The temple was built in 1951, under the orders of Doan Huy Hoang Queen (wife of King Khai Dinh). Khai Doan is also the last temple in Vietnam to receive the feudalism of feudalism.

After being built by the Sacred Assemblies (a yellow cloth that records the king's orders), the Empress Nam Phuong (the wife of King Bao Dai) was appointed to supervise the process. The temple was built only in the preaching and the post-novitiate, and in 1953 the main hall was built.

The pagoda is located on an area of nearly 4 hectares. Over 60 years of existence, the temple underwent a great renovation on the full moon in the third lunar month in 2012, to 2/10 lunar calendar in 2016, then re-launched.

The restoration has completely removed the old architecture and only retain the main hall, the Buddha statues and some rowing. The main hall of the temple, located on 320 square meters of land, is divided into two main areas. Half of the front of the house is a long form of the Western Highlands, but the structure of the column is in the style of Hue, and the second half is built in the modern way. In the middle of the statue is a bronze statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, standing on a beautiful wooden lotus.

The big bell is placed on the right side of the temple. The bell is 1,15 meters high, 2.7 meters in circumference, weighing 380 kg, made by bronze cast bronze craftsmen in the western part of Hue city in January 1954.

Many old items are still retained and used.

It is noteworthy that the wooden walls of the temple are carved figures of the gods, the Arhat, the Buddha.

Outside the temple, located in the left is a garden arranged many Arhat. Dozens of statues are carved due to the merits of Buddhists.

The name Khai Khai is explained as the first two words of King Khai Dinh and Empress Downhill King, with the intention of recognizing the founder of the temple.

Inside the pagoda there is a reading room. There are hundreds of Buddhist scriptures are decorated. Visitors to the temple or interested Buddhists can stop by and read for free.

Khai Doan is the headquarters of Buddhist Dak Lak province, known by people as the temple or large temple province. This is not only a great religious center but also a stop for many Buddhists whenever they have the opportunity to visit the Highlands.

The tourists from the capital are very happy when visiting the pagoda outside the high sun. Mr. Thanh (Hanoi) remarked: "The pagoda has very beautiful and ancient architecture".
